Ms. Quinn by Alex Hlavach

”One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings.” Carl Jung

This quote connects with Ms. Quinn because her class isn’t only an English class, but class where we talk about current events in the world and learn about social issues etc. She also always keeps the class interesting and fun. For example, if we’re reading a novel we don’t just read it and complete worksheets. We will read a section, stop, discuss what we read and make connection with real life things. She also cares greatly about her students, if a student is struggling, she doesn’t just give up on them and let them fail, she’ll do everything and anything she can to help them get back on track.

As one of her students I can say that she also treats all of us as people, not just students. We get to have real life discuss real life things and don’t have to be afraid to bring up controversial topics. The class feels like a big friend circle, even though everyone might not know each other, or be best friends, no one judges anyone when presenting, or because of their opinion on something.

At the end of the day, Ms. Quinn’s class won’t just be an English class, it’s a fun place to be, a place where you don’t feel like you’re sitting in a classroom at school. A place where you learn about about English in a way that makes sense and that’s fun. If there’s one class and teacher i will miss when i go off to college it’s hands down Ms. Quinn and Period 7-8 English.
