“Miss You” by Louis Tomlinson

This is a completely different song compared to all of the other songs Louis has. This song has a more harsh, rock, and pop sound all jumbled into one. It’s a bit explicit as well just to emphasize the different emotions he’s going through. The song starts off explaining the different things he is doing to get over someone he was previously in a relationship with. The pre chorus and chorus both explain how he’s having the time of his life drinking and dancing with his friends until it hits him that he misses the person he’s initially singing about in this song. He continues to reiterate the same emotions multiple times throughout the entirety of the song. I really like this song because it’s such a different sound and as weird as this sounds you can really hear his Yorkshire accent in this.

“Heart Attack” by Trey Songz

This is one of those songs that are played when it first comes out and then kind of forgotten about as time goes on but then you reconnect with this song and still remember every single lyric, It’s seriously the best feeling. I remember listening to this in 2012 when it came out and applying it to my 12 year old non existing heartbreaks and I recently found it again and it’s just kind of a nostalgic feeling. This song has a more harsh r&b sound to it. The song explains losing someone you cared a lot about due to being in a toxic relationship and wanting to make it all work. At the end of the day it’s just known that it’s for the best to part ways even though that’s not what your heart agrees with.

“Not Today” by Twenty One Pilots

[wpdevart_youtube]yqem6k_3pZ8[/wpdevart_youtube]

This song goes out to all of those kids with anxiety because that’s basically what this is about. This song runs through all of the insecurities one would face on a daily basis. Tyler, the lead singer, explains how simple tasks are somewhat difficult for him and how it would be easier to just be hidden than known in a situation like this. Since this song is super upbeat and fun Tyler even says, “Listen, I know this one’s a contradiction because of how happy it sounds.. But the lyrics are so down.” Then he explains that it’s okay because that’s how he’s feeling “today.” This song is a mix of emotions since it sounds happy yet the lyrics are depressing, but give this one a listen i’m sure someone out there  would like this.

“If I Were A Boy” by Beyonce

[wpdevart_youtube]AWpsOqh8q0M[/wpdevart_youtube]

This song strikes all of those heartbroken girls out there who feel certain boys don’t treat them right. Once the chorus hits, every girl is screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs. This song is more r&b and slower sounding. The lyrics are what hits all females, she uses very careful word choice throughout the song. She explains how if she were in a man’s shoes she would do everything to make a damaged woman learn to trust their partner and feel good in the relationship. This is definitely my favorite Beyonce song because it’s like every girl in this world feels exactly what she’s trying to say.

“If I Could Fly” By One Direction

This is a very sad and slow song with just a piano and 4 different voices. The song starts off by explaining basically how love conquers all. Meaning, they will run that extra mile for the person they’re singing about. The song goes into detail about how we all have those demons we have to battle on a daily basis but seeing that certain person makes you sort of forget about the pain you felt right before seeing them. Clearly, this song was made about a long distance relationship because the boys explain how they’re missing the other half of them when they’re both separated from each other. I really like this song because there’s a section of the song where each member of the band sings one line toward the end of the song and I personally think it sounds really good
