All For Leyna- Billy Joel

[wpdevart_youtube caption=”” align=”left”]hhIx7EaTido[/wpdevart_youtube]

When a friend of mine recommended this song to me a few days ago, I was immediately shocked that I hadn’t heard it before. I’ve streamed it 30 times in the past few days! The catchy Billy Joel track employs many typical traits of his music, such as intense piano melodies, crazy guitar riffs, and prominent drums. The peppy instrumentals always make me want to get up and dance! In this tune, Billy Joel sings of his obsession with a girl named Leyna in a series of fun and upbeat lyrics. You should listen to this song if you like upbeat music or 1970s music.

Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene- Hozier

[wpdevart_youtube caption=”” align=”left”]6mUDEBjFgm4[/wpdevart_youtube]

In typical Hozier fashion, “Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene” is a folky romp into the whimsical mind of Hozier. His peaceful yet rough vocals mix incredibly well with the light guitar and heavy drum beat. The lyrics of the track are absolutely beautiful, and they blend well with the instrumentals. The tune is very soulful, with many hints of blues and jazz. You should listen to this song if you like strong male vocalists or music with well written lyrics.

Flash Delirium- MGMT

[wpdevart_youtube caption=”” align=”left”]gBqDCNPlhTM[/wpdevart_youtube]

Many people only know MGMT from their hit song, Little Dark Age. In Flash Delirium, MGMT maintains their synthesized style while also straying far away from the sound of Little Dark Age. In this tune, the band combines many different genres- such as indie, electronic, psychedelic, and rock- in order to create one fun masterpiece. Through distorted vocals, loud guitar, and a synthesized melody, MGMT switches from genre to genre seamlessly. The track reminds me a lot of the psychedelic tone that The Beatles achieved on their album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. You should listen to this tune if you like music with interesting lyrics, or psychedelic music.

Quiero- Divino Nino

Translating directly to “I love you” or “I want you”, indie band Divino Nino sing of love and devotion in this melodious song. The track starts off with a mellow guitar riff, and then begins into gorgeous lyrics in spanish. Even if you may not understand the lyrics, the lead singer sings them beautifully before he goes into the english chorus of the track. You should listen to this song if you like relaxing music or love songs.
