Greetings, and for the “final time”, welcome back to October Horror Fest, and welcome to November! It’s crazy, right? Horror Fest has been done for about ten days now (fitting for a recap of the top ten movies), and I’m proud to say that I HAVE gotten more sleep (WOOO!!!). Now that basically all my emotions are out about the end of Horror Fest, I’m actually able to take a breath, and write the (technically) final article under the October Horror Fest name. UNLESS, the mantra is taken up after I graduate. Like I said in the Halloween Finale (go check it out if you haven’t!) who knows what will happen? I, for one, will be extremely excited to find out, even beyond my days in high school. Thank you ALL for reading The Final Chapter, and I hope you enjoy this list of my top ten movies from this year! It’s just like the original recap from 2023, which means it was INCREDIBLY hard for me to choose the top ten (this year had some BANGERS). However, the amazing thing about horror fest, although it is seasonal, it doesn’t go away! You can read the articles at any time, even during the Snowfest era approaching soon, and I recommend it! The Final Chapter was SO much more than these ten films, and they all deserve a spot! Enough of my talking, though. Thank you all!!! Without further ado, sit back, relax, turn off the lights, grab some candy and popcorn, and let’s review…
October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – TOP TEN MOVIES!!!
- Jaws – “Jaws is a masterpiece that I believe everyone should see at LEAST once in their life. It had everything. It had the story, the horror, the suspense, the characters, EVERYTHING” (October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – Day 16).
- Get Out – “This is by far one of my favorite horror films I’ve seen. There are SO many hidden details, SO much for me to talk about” (October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – Day 5).
- Sinners – “Guys, this might be one of my favorite horror films ever. Maybe even films in general. I ADORED this movie to a degree I didn’t think possible, and I am SO happy to share it with you all” (October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – Day 29).
- Weapons – “Today, we will be going into one of my FAVORITE horror movies of recent times, especially since I had the absolutely amazing experience of being able to view this film in theatres” (October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – Day 24).
- It – “Guys, I LOVEDDDDDDD this movie so much, and as you can probably tell through the review, I am SO sad I was literally too scared to watch it for this long. However, I am SO GLAD that I was finally able to, and even more happy that I was able to share it with you all” (October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – Day 28).
- A Quiet Place – “Guys, this movie was SO SO SO insanely good. I CANTTTT. I honestly need you guys to check this one out, because it really is that good. There is SO much detail and love woven into this movie, and I wish I could just sit here and gush about it” (October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – Day 18).
- The Blair Witch Project (1999) – “Tonight, we venture into one of the most influential horror movies ever created. NOT just because of how it revitalized the horror genre, but how it created an entire subgenre by itself, a subgenre that would go on to become one of the staples of horror. This film is recognized for its revolutionary greatness, and I am SHOCKED that I haven’t watched it yet” (October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – Week 2 Special).
- Godzilla (1954) – “Today, I decided to watch one of the most influential horror movies ever made. In fact, this film was not just influential for horror, but one of the most influential movies EVER made. It perfectly encapsulates the fears of its time, and creates one of the most famous pop culture icons” (October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – Day 13).
- Paranormal Activity – “Today, we venture into one of the lowest budget horror movies ever made, which created an iconic franchise. It is enduring, terrifying, and created Blumhouse Productions, my personal favorite horror movie studio” (October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – Day 19).
- Scream (2022) – “Today is the day, ladies and gentlemen. It’s the day that I’m almost positive we all knew was coming, and it’s the day that I am the most excited for. Even though my sleep schedule is being DESTROYED for my third time reviewing a movie in this franchise, it’s worth it every step of the way” (October Horror Fest: The Final Chapter – Day 25).
