The Choice is one of the most anticipated movies to hit theaters this year. Critics are saying that it’s the best Nicholas Sparks book to make it to the big-screen since The Notebook.

Gabby Holland moves in next door to Travis Parker in Beaufort, North Carolina. Gabby is in a committed relationship with her long-term boyfriend and plans on marrying him in the near future. Travis is your typical bachelor who hops from girl to girl and never seems to find what he’s looking for. Until he meets his new neighbor Gabby, who she automatically doesn’t like because she has reason to believe that Travis’s dog knocked up her dog Molly. Little does she know that Travis is a vet and his dog was neutered therefor it would end up being impossible. Little does Gabby know that this interaction, will set her up for one of the most important choices of her life.

Although Gabby at first doesn’t want to admit that she is attracted to Travis they cross paths numerous times and Travis is the one to make the first move. Gabby at first doesn’t want anything to do with him but eventually falls for him. The only problem is her boyfriend and soon to be fiance Kevin. Will Gabby take a risk and stay with kevin, or follow her heart and be with Travis?

There is an essential question that appears throughout the movie: “How far do you go in the name of love?”
