Greek Tragedy (n.)- a form of drama performed in theatres across ancient Greece in which the main character suffers extreme sorrow due to a tragic flaw or moral weakness.

The Wombats comprises of three band members who met in 2003 and formed the group. They originate in Liverpool, England, but have also signed to the record label, Bright Antenna in the United States. They currently have three albums, with the most recent being Glitterbug. I believe they are the epitome of an indie pop band, but they are categorized as alternative.

Have you ever heard a song and pictured the perfect scenario for it? You base it off the sound and speed of the music, the story the lyrics tell and the way it makes you feel. “Greek Tragedy” by The Wombats is the perfect song to use as the background of your made-up music video. For some reason this song has a sad ambiance connected to it; a wild, spontaneous relationship that seems so perfect, ends up being unsuccessful. This song (and album) has a whimsical correlation with it; it’s the perfect song to drive to at night with the windows down in order to feel nostalgic and reminisce on old times. I am seeing them live this Tuesday November 24th, which I am incredibly excited for.
