As most of you know, Zayn Malik left One Direction in March. He left the famous boyband to continue the On the Road Again (OTRA) Tour without him.

When One Direction came to the states for their tour, fans were pumped to see them in concert, with or without Zayn. Even though the band had lost a lot of fans after he left, their shows were still sold out in every stadium.

While One Direction was in the U.S., Zayn signed a record deal with RCA records. He decided it was his time to make “real music.”

Freshman Hannah Leitner went to the show at Metlife and had something to say about this topic “I went to the On the Road Again tour in August. It was odd seeing them on stage without Zayn since he has always been there. But I was glad to see them happy and enjoy themselves as always!”

After Zayn left, his former bandmates had to quickly decide who was going to sing his parts in their old songs. For example, Niall Horan had sang Zayn’s solo part in their song “18.” Also, Liam Payne sang Zayn’s solo in one of their singles, “The Story of My Life.”

The OTRA tour stage looked very similar to One Direction’s last year’s stage just with different colors. It had a ramp in the middle and two big screens for videos during the concerts. In the middle of the walkway, there are two small ramps that the four boys sit while singing for some songs. The stage looks too big for only four of the boys, but it’s just something everyone is going to have get used to.

Even without Zayn, One Direction was able to deliver a great show, and release a new single during their time in the U.S. Zayn Malik will definitely be missed in the band, but everyone is still excited about what the rest of the band still has to offer, especially with their new album coming out in November.
