Greetings, everybody! Welcome to Part 2 of the Super Bowl lineup. Time to talk about the movie trailers that dropped! Let’s go!!
The Mandalorian & Grogu:
This trailer promotes the new Mandalorian movie coming out this Memorial Day weekend. Not many people seem to be excited about this movie, and I’ll be honest…I’m not super hyped about it either. I’ll probably see it, but I don’t need to see it right away. This spot was honestly kind of weird.
Disclosure Day:
I am super hyped for this movie, and this teaser only adds to that excitement. Disclosure Day continues to look mysterious and like it’ll be a summer blockbuster. Only time will tell.
Minions & Monsters:
I love the Minions, and I tend to enjoy the Despicable Me movies and the last Minions installment, but this does not look good. No Gru… and worst of all, no Kevin, Stuart, or Bob. I personally think they should’ve picked up where they left off in Rise of Gru. I’ll probably still see it, hoping it’s decent, but I’m not very hopeful.
Scream 7:
Another movie I’m not really excited about. I like the Scream franchise, but it feels like I’ve already seen this entire movie. The trailer reveals certain things that probably shouldn’t be shown yet, and I’m frustrated that Melissa Barrera was dropped and replaced. The repetition is almost reassuring at this point.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth:
This is the trailer that got me the most hyped during the entire Super Bowl. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is one of my favorite movies of all time, and the teaser maintains the stylish Tarantino feel I expected. Tarantino won’t be directing, but he will be producing, writing, and possibly starring. I can’t wait to see The Adventures of Cliff Booth!
Project Hail Mary:
This movie looks absolutely fantastic! It almost made my most anticipated movies of the year list that I created a while back. However, the trailers for this movie are so long! I don’t want to see the entire movie across three trailers, but I’m still very excited nonetheless.
Hoppers:
This looks like it’s going to be a cute, fun Pixar adventure. I’m actually looking forward to it and hoping it doesn’t underperform like some recent Pixar releases. It’s a very solid original concept for a Pixar movie, so let’s hope it does well. I’ll definitely see it!
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie:
More teasers and trailers for this movie have been released over the past few weeks. We’ve gotten a look at Yoshi and now other characters like Fury Bowser Jr. I’m excited to see this movie because I’ve always loved Mario. Personally, I prefer him over Sonic. This just looks like a very fun and cute movie with some big hype moments for Mario fans. I’ll be there!
Supergirl:
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “This wasn’t released during the Super Bowl, it was released during the Puppy Bowl!” I know, but I’m including it anyway. The only new footage we’ve gotten includes new shots of Krypto and how Kara found him. Krypto looks as cute as ever, and I’m really looking forward to this movie. Despite being slightly nervous about the direction it’s taking, I’m still hopeful!
