1. Stitch Head
Based on the best-selling book series of the same name by Guy Bass, Stitch Head follows the story of a small creature who wakes up in a castle in order to protect the professor’s other monstrous creations. I have not seen the trailer for this family-friendly film myself, but from what I’ve gathered, it’s kind of giving if Coraline and Frankenstein were mashed together. This movie is suitable for you if you love the book series or if you want to see a movie that’s spooky and fun for the whole family.
2. Bugonia
From the critically acclaimed director of Poor Things, Yorgos Lanthimos, two conspiracy-obsessed men kidnap a high-class CEO of a crucial company, convinced she’s an alien that will destroy the planet. This film stars Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, and Aidan Delbis of the autistic community. The screenplay is by Will Tracy, and this film premiered at the Venice Film Festival, receiving a monumental seven-minute ovation. It is an alien invasion satire—not appropriate for kids—which was proven by Yorgos’s previous work, like Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness. This movie is perfect for you if you love Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, you’re a fan of Lanthimos and are familiar with his previous projects, or if you’re a beekeeper, scientist, or alien enthusiast.
