“Bellyache” by up-and-coming singer Billie Eilish is probably the most upbeat song about murder that you’ll ever hear. EIlish, who released the hit song at the young age of 15, sings the tune from the point of view from a psychopath. This is pretty easy to pick up on, with lyrics such as, “My friends aren’t far/In the back of my car/Lay their bodies.” But, don’t let these seemingly unsetting lyrics distract you from what is a fun and bubbly pop tune. The song has a great beat with fun guitar instrumentals. You should listen to this song if you like pop music, or music with interesting lyrics.

“Windows” is a breezy psychedelic rock song by indie-rock band Sugar Candy Mountain. The tune has amazing guitar and drum instrumentals. The lead singer’s lovely airy vocals blend well with the fun rock background instrumentals. The lyrics of the song, albeit simple, leave you thinking. For example, “No moment’s vacant/The blanker the space is/The more there is to see.” You should listen to this song if you like psychedelic rock music, or music with lyrics that make you think.

In this rock ballad, La Lenguas sing of post-breakup sadness. The lead singer harps on throught the song about how he will “love you all the time”, referring to his past lover. The tune develops some great instrumentals, with a fun guitar and drum track. The lead singer’s rough vocals add to the rock sound of the song, tying the music all together. You should listen to this tune if you like great lead vocals, or rock songs.

“New Person, Same Old Mistakes” – Tame Impala

“New Person, Same Old Mistakes” is a psychedelic song by Tame Impala. In the tune, lead singer Kevin Parker deals with the concept of self-doubt. He sings of lyrics such as, “Feel like a brand new person(But you’ll make the same old mistakes)/I don’t care, I’m in love(Stop before it’s too late).” These lyrics describe an ongoing battle with Parker’s feelings. Staying with the true theme of these dark lyrics, the synthesized background music is very ominous. This ominous tone helps it pair well with the lyrics. You should listen to this song if you like music with dark lyrics, or psychedelic music.
