On Monday night at Irving Plaza in Manhattan, the $uicideboy$ rocked the venue from roof to floor with banger after banger of their long list of their memorable hits as part of their Global Epidemic Tour. The $uicideboy$ are a shadow rap duo from New Orleans who are known for their combination of elements of punk rock and trap, and sometime,  even smooth jazz to create an authentic underground music scene. With a sold out show, the crowd was roaring to the bass with no regrets about their well spent money. Accompanying the duo was their DJ, Crystal Meth, who warmed up the crowd with popular singles such as Magnolia by Playboi Carti.

Mid set, the boy$ brought out Fat Nick and Germ, two notable Floridian rappers that have collaborated with the duo for some their most recent work, playing and revisiting hits such as 2Hot4U, Don’t Tell Me and Here We Go Again. With a traditional mosh pit, it is easy to lose your friends as you are swallowed by a state of ecstasy, coupled with hundreds of masses who are all following the same beat as you. Songs such as Magazine, OPana and Memoirs of a Gorilla truly rocked the masses.

At the event, merchandise such as t-shirts, hats, ski masks, and decorative paper were sold for fans to purchase. This merchandise has had a cult following, quite similar to artists such as  Supreme and FTP.  $uicideboy$ merchandise has also been noted for its resale value on reddit, among other platforms, with a simple ski mask of $25  now going for $50 to the fans who couldn’t attend the concerts.

Earlier in the year, this duo had a surprise appearance at our very own Game Changer’s in Howell, NJ. At the drop of hat through their twitter announcement, the boy$ showed up to greet their fans at a Fat Nick and Pouya show featuring Ghostemane (all Florida based rapers) on their Drop Out of High School tour. Like “anchovies from that one Spongebob episode *meep meep*,” as Ghostemane referred to, the crowd was in awe of the incredible performances as a mosh pit erupted out of sheer excitement.

The rappers $crim, Ruby da Cherry, Fat Nick,Pouya, Germ and Ghostemane are all part of soundcloud’s expansive collection of music that has met with an overwhelming reception since 2015 and have now taken on a mainstream status with their group of followers, that is only expanding. I highly recommend following them if you are in need of new music that gets released faster so you can enjoy, and have provided their links below for your convenience!
