November 17th, 2017 marks the release date of the next DCEU film, Justice League. What most fans are wondering, is that will Justice League live up to its name? Or is it  just another DCEU mistake in the rebooted franchise? The first film within the DCEU, Man of Steel,  directed by Zach Snyder,  was harshly rated by Rotten Tomatoes with a 55% score and only 75% fans enjoying it. Rotten Tomatoes website notably remarked, “Man of Steel’s exhilarating action and spectacle can’t fully overcome its detours into generic blockbuster territory.” While there are negative reviews, there are some positive ones such as IGN. IGN stated, “Man of Steel is director Zack Snyder’s best movie to date. Snyder exhibits a confidence and maturity here apart from his past films, and more than atones for the mess that was Sucker Punch.” While people enjoyed the first movie within the first film of the rebooted DCEU, there are others who absolutely despised it, and we the fans can expect that with the upcoming 2017 Justice League film.

The second film of the rebooted DCEU, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, has a majority of fans branding his film as a major disappointment. It’s like going to a five star restaurant and getting a meal that’s worth only one star! IGN writes, “BvS never fully transcends into being an awesome viewing experience and yet is also too competently made to be anywhere near the disaster its haters have predicted. That said, if you’ve already made up your mind about BvS then the actual film itself won’t do much to change your mind one way or another.”

As IGN tried to spread the message that Batman Vs Superman  was never a well written or directed movie, all of the skeptics of this film were proved to be correct! Fun fact: the script Christian Bale (the Batman in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy) received was one of the main reasons why he stepped down from the role and was later awarded to Ben Affleck. Sandie Angulo Chen from www.Commonsensemedia.org states, “With charismatic performances and epic battle scenes, this unrelentingly serious start to a new DC Universe franchise is intriguing but also humorless and overdone.” It’s been greatly evidenced that all critics were unequivocal in their opinion that  this movie was a failure for the rebooted DCEU franchise. But will critics act the same yet again with the upcoming Justice League film?

When the first trailer released late last year, fans were begging for more because it personally wasn’t enough and we bashed on the film for a while. That all ended when the second trailer released in late March 2017! There was a whole lot of action between all six superheroes within 2-3 minutes of the trailer that made the fans change their opinions of Snyder’s production in Justice League. I’ll be back next week again with more reviews of previous DCEU films and how their reviews can affect the fate of the Justice League and the entire DCEU franchise. Stay tuned!
