DAY 5: Got Stacks on (CARD) Decks Like He’s Savin’ Up

‘Sup, everyone. It’s your favorite editor here (because Hailey and Leah are too boy crazy, and Ariana and Lindsey are too nice, and I’m too perfect) coming at you live with day five of the holiday gift ideas! I got two really awesome gifts for Hanukkah this year, one raunchy and the other super unique, so let’s get going. These two games are innovative cards games that aren’t stereotypical and boring. They’re fun and get you thinking, so definitely go out and buy BOTH of them as soon as you’re done reading.

If you’ve never heard of Cards Against Humanity, than you are either: A) a dumb dumb baby or B) a mom who posts really lengthy and unimportant facebook posts about her average daughter’s average achievements.  It’s okay though, because now you’re gonna read all about it. CAH, as I will lazily refer to it as, is Apples To Apples for a generation who knows WAY too much about dirty things. Found ONLY on Amazon for $25, this game is nothing but hilarious fun and awkward silences. Gather your friends and get ready to die from lack of oxygen because you are laughing to hard. [Editor’s Note: We at the Patriot Press are not responsible if you actually literally die from laughing too hard when playing CAH; we’re just telling you about it. Don’t sue the messenger!]

A super interesting game for the creative type is found at Kohls for $20. Sneaky Cards is a new interactive card game where each card in the deck gives you crazy missions to carry out. Pull a card when you’re with your friends, and maybe you’ll have to take a selfie with a stranger or play dead in public until someone checks to see if you’re actually dead. The possibilities of what you’ll have to do in this game are endless, and some are actually super uplifting and adorable! Complimenting a stranger on something you genuinely like about their outfit, putting money in a vending machine for the next person to have a pleasant surprise, and starting a wave in the cafeteria are all cards in this game that you can explore for yourself. Not only are these 200+ tasks unique and often heartfelt, but each card has a special tracking number on the bottom for when you “Play it Forward” (it’s like paying it forward, doing nice things for other people). So, if you have to hide a cards in a stranger’s hood or on a public bulletin board or at your dentist’s office, all of which are actual tasks in Sneaky Cards, the person who finds your card can go online and put in their location as THEY continue Playing It Forward. Getting to watch your good deeds blossom into a social movement is what this game is all about. It’s the perfect gift for the loud, creative type, and even for the shy people in your lives that need a boost of confidence. This game is designed to break open a person’s shell, so give this gift to anybody and everybody today!
