Just- Radiohead

This classic “Radiohead” song grew to popularity for a myriad of reasons. Although the lyrics of the tune are pretty depressing (in typical “Radiohead” fashion), the chord progressions in the track are very unique and set it apart from other grunge 1990s songs. The guitar solos in the song are also amazing and incredibly fun to listen to. Additionally, the music video for the track is very interesting and well produced. “Radiohead” has a similar sound to the bands “Nirvana”, “Pavement”, and “The White Stripes”. You should listen to this tune if you like grunge rock music, or songs with great instrumentals!

Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band- The Beatles

[wpdevart_youtube caption=”” align=”left”]VtXl8xAPAtA[/wpdevart_youtube]

This is the title track of arguably the most popular album by “The Beatles” of the same name. I personally love the album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, since that album is when “The Beatles” really began to experiment with the sound and lyrics of their music- and this track is no different in terms of experimentation! The strange lyrics of the track are often hailed as being very poetic, and the instrumentals of the tune are very fun and out of character for the 1960s due to the distinctive instruments and melodies in the track. You should listen to this tune if you enjoy music from the 1960s, or music with a unique sound.

Ode To The Mets- The Strokes

[wpdevart_youtube caption=”” align=”left”]LNq4xox99HY[/wpdevart_youtube]

“The Strokes” have been continuously featured on my Thursday Jams lists since I first began writing them in 2018. But, as of this past Sunday, the band has officially won the 2021 Grammy Award for “Best Rock Album”. So, of course I had to honor them with a song from that Grammy winning album! The lyrics of the tune Ode To The Mets reminisce on the band’s career and they are very well written. The guitar solos and drums in this song are phenomenal, and the lead singer’s vocals are perfect for this genre of music! “The Strokes” have a similar sound to the bands “Arctic Monkeys”, “The Smiths”, and “Blur”. You should listen to this song if you like rock music, or tracks with well-written lyrics.

Staring- Tipling Rock

[wpdevart_youtube caption=”” align=”left”]RXpe-kbDJE8[/wpdevart_youtube]

Staring is a fun song by indie pop band “Tipling Rock”. The lyrics of the tune tell a simple story of love, but the instrumentals are incredibly fun and upbeat. The drums and guitar in this track always make me smile and think of summer! The chorus is also very catchy. The band has a similar sound to the bands “Wallows”, “Dayglow”, and “The Neighborhood”. You should listen to this song if you like happy music, or upbeat tunes that make you want to dance.
