“Sucker” – Jonas Brothers

Alright, I’ll admit it. At first I was only drawn to this song for the nostalgia of it, since it is sung by The Jonas Brothers. But, after listening to this song on repeat for a week, I can conclude that this song isn’t only good for the nostalgia. The Jonas Brothers voices blend together very well, and the pop song has a very catchy beat. This song is a good guilty pleasure, even for people who don’t traditionally like pop music. You should listen to this song if you like the Jonas Brothers, or pop music.

“Hollywood” -MARINA

“Hollywood” is a song sung by MARINA, formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds. In this song, she sings of the lies of Hollywood. With lyrics such as, “Your mind is just like mine/All filled up with things benign/You’re looking for the golden lie”, Marina is singing about how Hollywood isn’t what it seems to be. The tune is a classic and upbeat pop song, but with darker lyrics. You should listen to this tune if you like pop music or music with interesting lyrics.

“East Harlem” – Beirut

In this catchy tune, the band Beirut sings of passionate love. He compares his lover to a rose, and wishes to see her again. He sings lyrics such as “Sound is what keeps me looking for your eyes/And sound of your breath in the cold/And oh, the sound will bring me home again”. The tune is slow and sweet, and it has a lovely piano accompaniment. You should listen to this song if you like music about love, or slow-sounding music.

“Weekend Friend” – Goth Babe

Goth Babe’s “Weekend Friend” is a fun and mellow synthesized indie pop song. The tune can be a bit repetitive, with the words “And darling, what you waiting there for?/I got you alone, but I don’t really know” being repeated quite often. But, nonetheless, the lead singer’s voice is very soothing. His soothing vocals, along with the synthesized background music, give way to a very catchy and upbeat tune. You should listen to this music if you like indie-pop, or more relaxing songs.
