Alessia Cara is the newest arrival to the pop scene that deserves all recognition. She is one of the few pop singers that can be considered a guilty pleasure of mine. Her voice is so bold and unique, she literally screams confidence. Everything she creates is catchy, eccentric and has a “new” feeling attached with it.

Alessia Cara is toying with the original pop sound, but adding a twist. She is only a year older than I am (19) and has accomplished more than what I ever will in my entire life (plus all my reincarnated lives combined). She released her first official debut single “Here” in April 2015, which was listed on Billboard’s Summer Playlist yet that song still manages to play on the radio as of March 2016.

“Wild Things” by Alessia Cara can be the anthem of rebelling against the status quo. She proves that the cool kids really aren’t all that and living on your own terms is the only thing that matters. The song is lapped over pre recording audio snippets in the background with a repetitive chorus to emphasize the message. The beat is energetic, but really put together by the lively drums. She is also nominated for the “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” for the Juno Awards and “Favorite New Artists” for the Kids Choice Awards… Go and vote for her!
