‘Boeing Boeing’ Brings the Laughs to the FTHS Stage

Saturday, November 4, the Patriot Press got the opportunity to see the 1:00 pm showing of the Patriot Productions’s play, Boeing Boeing, which was the understudy show. The cast and crew worked tirelessly to put together this comedic show, and needless to say, their hard work was evident throughout.

The show featured Bernard, played by Jake Manna, struggling to prevent his three finances, Gloria, Gabriella, and Gretchen, from finding out about each other. All three women were air hostesses, which, because of flight times, had kept them from crossing paths for quite some time. The play also showcased Lilia Gerstmyer as Gloria, an American whose flight had to turn back because of a hurricane. Unfortunately, this happened while Gabriella, a stubborn Italian played by Vanessa Gorman, had landed and was staying at Bernard’s flat. Coincidentally, Gretchen, the loud, boisterous German played by Morgan O’Shea, had arrived in Paris early, which had caused all three finances to be in Bernard’s flat at the same time. It would take Bernard’s resourcefulness, the creativity of his old school friend Robert Lambert, played by Dan Studer, and Berthe, the chef and maid in the house, played by Trinity Andrejewski, to get Bernard out of this crisis.

Senior Daphne Lombardi was among the many who enjoyed the show.  “Hilariously amazing performances by all six stars,” she said.  “A show I’ll never forget!”

While the success of the play was dependent of the dedication, perseverance, and talent of the actors and actresses on the stage, it also took a large production staff to make it happen. Without the help of the production stage manager, production assistant, stage managers, assistant stage managers, set crew head, set crew members, sound crew head, sound crew members, lighting crew heads, props crew head, costume crew head, costume, hair, and makeup crew, and the lobby display workers, the show wouldn’t have been the same.

It was amazing to see all of the little pieces come together to create such a spectacular play. The play itself was hilarious and a true testament to what the actors and actresses were capable.  Only time will tell what else Patriot Production has in store for the musical in the spring.
