Halloween is creeping up on us and The Patriot Press is here to help with some unique and creative costume suggestions.

Cereal-Killer

How about a “CEREAL” KILLER? All you have to do is hold a prop knife and wear all black but make sure to take photos or boxes of cereal taped or glued to your outfit so that people can actually get the joke! It’s clever and funny.

How about a MINION? A lot of people have been planning on being one of these cute, chubby, yellow little characters. All you’d need is some overalls, a yellow shirt, and some yellow paint—goggles would be a nice touch, too.

Do you like zombies? What about cats? Well, why not put them together? You can be a ZOMBIE CAT! It’s terrifying and cute! It’s a costume that rarely anyone has ever seen walking around on the streets on Halloween. You can spook out the neighbors and maybe even your friends!  Zombie costumes are easy to come by, so just add the whiskers, ears, and tail, and you’re all set!

Do you like FBI shows like Criminal Minds or CSI: Miami? Well, why not become a POLICE OFFICER or FBI AGENT? It’s fashionable and you can even carry around a cool (and fake) FBI badge. What’s more, it’s really easy to do: wear a nice suit and print out the FBI badge – the whole costume will take two minutes to assemble!

You can dress up as a Facebook version of yourself!

You can dress up as a Facebook version of yourself!

Are you obsessed with Twitter or Facebook? Why not be A SOCIAL MEDIA SITE! It’s simple as taping a cardboard cutout (or you can paint the logo on the cardboard piece) to a plain shirt. It fits perfect for our generation, and you’d essentially be dressing up as yourself!

How about becoming an EMOTICON? All you need to do is print out your favorite emoticons (in color and enlarged) and glue them to different cardboard pieces. From here, you just need to attach pieces of velcro to your outfit and the other sides to the backs of the cardboard pieces and stick them together. You’ll literally be a walking and talking emoji! Who said Halloween had to be scary?

Who can forget the board game SCRABBLE? You can become (with the help of other friends) a bunch of scrabble pieces. You could all stand next to each other and let people see what word you spelled out. This gives you a chance to show off all of your personalities in one word! It’s as simple as cutting out giant squares in cardboard and covering each square with white paper. After this, you just need to draw a letter on it and velcro it to a shirt!

Hopefully one of these ideas sparked something, and you’ll be able to create something unique and excited for your trick-or-treating needs. Happy Halloween!
