Staff Report

Twelve FTHS students won various gift cards for improving their grades from the first to the second marking periods through the Step Up initiative.

Mrs. Lanza, who runs the program, states, “While FTHS has an honor roll that acknowledges students who receive As and Bs in their classes, there was a void for students who still worked hard to improve their grades, but were not, perhaps, at an A or B level. ANY improvement is a ‘step up‘ in the right direction and, hence, this program acknowledges the efforts of all students who improved from one marking period to the next.”

Dozens of students applied, and twelve names were randomly selected.
