Living in your comfort zone

Life is short so it’s time to stop worrying about what could go wrong and start doing the things you could never see yourself doing

Comparing yourself

Social media starts to become toxic only when you start looking at photos, tweets, or snapchats and begin to compare yourself to others. Instead, use social media as a source of inspiration.

Hitting the snooze button

2017 may have been rough, but if anything, it has taught us that life goes on and we     (sadly) cannot stay in bed all day.

Insecurities

This one’s a little difficult but sometimes it’s the things we hate about ourselves that people can love the most. It’s time to find the beauty in your flaws and imperfections rather than hiding behind a ‘disguise’

Mistakes of the past

“Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life.” -Morrissey

Overworking

2018 means letting go of your superwoman/superman facade because in reality, we need eight hours of sleep and it’s completely okay to not study every once in a while and place your mental health above schoolwork.

Ignoring your accomplishments

Celebrate your achievements! Everything you earn is well deserved and it’s time you start treating yourself and just embrace every victory.

Destructive Relationships

The people you spend the most time around have the biggest impact on your thoughts and actions. Leave the people who constantly carry around negativity and immorality in 2017.

Self-doubt

Amazing things happens when you trust yourself and your instincts.

Procrastination

This one should’ve been left in 2014, but here we are! Take every step possible to prevent yourself from putting off important assignments- you’ll only thank yourself later.

Complaints

Complaning not only rewires your brain to think more negatively, but it also makes you one of the worst people to spend time with. No one wants to hang out with someone who’s constantly ranting about the most petty things.

Judgement

Support one another! Prejudice and first impressions are rarely accurate.

Taking things for granted

If writing 2018 on the ‘Date’ line doesn’t make you realize how fast time flies by, nothing will. Start appreciating the people who make you happy and make sure they know their importance.

Ignorance

Go out to vote! Do your research before speaking on a controversial topic! Thoroughly understand today’s news and create your own opinion to become more educated.

Competition

History has proven that humans are more powerful together. No more superiority or selfishness in 2018.

Worrying about others’ opinions

You do you! And do it with confidence. Start doing what makes YOU feel alive and stop stressing about what others could possibly be thinking.

Negativity

365 days is a lot of time for things to go wrong, but it’s always in your hands to control your reaction to every situation. Cut off any negativity you can and begin this year with an optimistic mindset.
