Talking Dead with Pedro (7.10)
March 1, 2017
Welcome back, Walker fanatics, to another reaction of The Walking Dead season 7 episode 10!
Overall, this episode wasn’t too exciting, nor boring, but did leave me with a couple of questions in the end. The first scene takes place at the highway where the Kingdom and Saviors usually meet up to do their deals. Once the Saviors finally show up, the leader of this pack, Gavin does a count making sure the Kingdom didn’t leave anything out. At first, Gavin thinks they were short this time, but does a recount and everything was okay—for the moment. The Savior who picks a fight with Richard is back, but now he thinks Richard should never have a gun and demands for Richard to hand in his gun. Richard refusing doesn’t help the issue as they both draw their guns, and so did all of the Saviors in the pack and as well as the Kingdom! Without anyone dying, Richard surrenders his gun and the same Savior throws a couple of cheap shots at him, until Morgan uses his trusted staff to trip the Savior, and the same Savior punches him in the ear and makes him bleed. Benjamin sweeps him up with his staff which breaks up the fight. An annoyed Gavin calls for this mess to stop because this drama scene is getting old, and I’m tired of these two fighting. Gavin threatens King Ezekiel that if this mess doesn’t stop, Richard will still be the first to go. Morgan approaches the Savior that he knocked down, and asks for his trusted staff back because it was a gift from an important person in his life before he passed, but he refused making the fans shed a tear for the “Cheese maker.”
As Ezekiel’s group arrive back home, an annoyed Ezekiel approached Richard and told him that they’ll speak later based on his actions. Ezekiel confronts Benjamin complementing his skills with the staff, but he needs to focus on making better decisions when using it because it could have cost someone’s life. As Richard practices with the bow and arrow since the Saviors don’t want to see him with a gun, Daryl approaches, but RIchard interrupts and tells Daryl that he needs help with something.
The next scene shows Richard taking Daryl to his underground home to get some food, guns, and ammunition to hunt for some Saviors. Once they got to a good spot, Daryl tries to talk Richard out of doing this, but doesn’t get anything out of this. Richard then mentions that he’s trying to obtain Carol’s help, but Daryl stops him from shooting the upcoming Savior cars! Daryl then threatens Richard that he’ll kill him if Carol gets any type of illness or is found dead.
We see Rick and company follow this new group to their so called “home” in a garbage dump where the leader, Jadus delivers a speech to their trespassers that they own their lives now. Before Rick could respond to that inadequate statement, Rick demands to see Gabriel. This group brings out Gabriel, stripped of his church attire, and tied up. Rick politely tells this new foe that their lives already belong to someone else—the Saviors where they give you two options, you serve them, or you die! Which lead Rick to ask the obvious—if they would like to join them in the battle against the Saviors. Jadus immediately says no which lead for Father Gabriel to be taken away, but fighting back, Gabriel was able to escape the rope he was tied on and able to get a hold of a member of this group. Gabriel shouted out loud that he’ll kill this pedestrian unless they hear him out. Gabriel tries to influence this new group to join them by stating that they can get half of the Saviors goods if they win the fight. Jadus with curiosity tells Gabriel to let go of her soldiers and tells Rick to follow her to the top of the Garbage mountain so she can introduce him to “Winslow.” In amusement, Jadus pushes Rick off the garbage mountain which we all thought was his death!
A dazed Rick was finally able to shake it off and as he realizes that he was in a garbage gladiator pit when out of nowhere, Winslow comes from behind with his gladiator roar. Winslow is a walker, but with armour and knifes and other sharp weapons all around his body to make it hard for its opponents to kill it. A surprised Rick backs away from this behemoth but steps into the aftermath of Winslow’s opponents before him in walker form. Walker fans all over the world thought it was over for our gracious leader, but Super Rick was able fight off Winslow by pulling on the trash mountain making it all fall on Winslow. Rick finds an object and beats Winslow to death, and is able to walk away with only wounds on his hand and leg!
Once the whole drama scene was over, a surprised Jadus knew that Rick is worthy enough to have her group join their group, so Jadus pulls out a rope for Rick to climb out of the garbage pit, and when she pulls him up, Jadus informs Rick that they will join the fight against the Saviors, but Rick’s group has to agree to a deal that Jadus came up with which included giving them guns—a lot of guns—and what they took before (Gabriel). The deal also expires, which means no guns asap, no group joining Rick’s battle.
The Kingdom visits Carol once more just to give her food and to see how she’s doing. Carol says that she’s doing fine, but like in all episodes, she tells them to leave. Just when you think everything was relaxes for Carol, her door knocks once more, but this time, it’s Daryl who’s there for a visit! In shock, Carol changed her attitude and quickly gave Daryl a big hug leaving all of the Walking Dead fans in awe over this tearful reunion!
As Rick was getting bandaged up, Gabriel and him have a conversation about why Gabriel left Alexandria, and how Gabriel was sorry for doing so. Rick quickly forgave Gabriel because he knows that Gabriel wouldn’t ditch the group like that, and Rick never lost faith in him. Rosita is back at it again, but not with white vans, but with another argument with another member of the group—this time Tara. Tara asks what’s next, but Rosita jumps to the conclusion that they’re going to do it right away. Tara thinks they all should heal first before going out and risking their lives once more. Rick decides that they’ll get the new group’s guns as soon as everyone heals and is ready to go on another run. Rick decides to give Michonne some sort of cat trophy made out of yarn because he knows that they already won.
Carol sits Daryl down in front of the fire pit that she made to cook her meals and tells Daryl that the reason why she left is because she can’t kill these people (The Saviors) because once everyone at Alexandria dies, there won’t be anything left for Carol. Carol emotionally asks Daryl if everyone back home is okay and well. It took Daryl a little a long while to finally give Carol an answer in which he lies and tells her that everyone is okay. Carol served Daryl dinner and afterward he made his farewell.
Morgan met up with Daryl at the basement of the Kingdom where he finds Daryl and Shiva getting along nicely. Morgan and Daryl talked about how they both need the Kingdom to keep them alive and well. Morgan also added how they both have something in common how they couldn’t tell Carol what happened to the group. The next morning, Daryl leaves the Kingdom to prepare himself for the battle at the Hilltop, concluding season 7-10 of TWD!
Overall, this episode wasn’t anything to be too excited about, but still a decent episode. Questions are still roaming around everyone’s mind—Is this new group worth trusting? Are these the Garbage Pail Kids, or are these the early debuting Whisperers? And, why isn’t anyone telling Carol what happened to the group? She could be a great contribution to the “All Out War” series—you never know?!
