1D’s Tomlinson Dedicates Song to His Late Mom
December 16, 2016
2016 has been a hard year for many people, but it was even harder for one of the members of One Direction, Louis Tomlinson. Earlier this year, Louis Tomlinson’s mother, Johannah Deaken, was diagnosed with a harsh form of Leukemia and unfortunately passed away on December 7 at age 42. Her seven children and one grandchild stayed strong to reminisce about the amazing memories they shared with her before she passed. Some of One Direction’s fans are really grateful the band decided to take a 2-year-long hiatus because if they had gone on tour while all of this happened things would have been harder for the family to process.
Johannah’s daughter, Felicite, posted this picture on Instagram of the entire family together with the caption of a red heart.
Three days after Johannah passed away, Louis wrote a song with DJ Steve Aoki some recent tragedies that occurred and performed it live on The X Factor just days after the news came about concerning his mother.
The song is called “Just Hold On” and is about Louis’s mother. Throughout the song, Louis repeats, “darling, just hold on,” to tell his mother to hold on. It was said that Johannah’s last wish was to see Louis perform the beautifully written song on show. She was not physically there to watch her son do an amazing job performing the track about her, but fans like to think that she was indeed watching down on him.
The other members of One Direction dropped everything that they were doing and flew to London to support their bandmate and friend.
After the performance Louis Tomlinson tweeted some kind words about the outstanding amount of support he has been getting since his mother’s death.
The Tomlinson-Deakin family is still recovering after such a painful occurrence, but everyone is hoping to see smiles on all of their faces soon!
