Good news and bad news: the hit CW show The Vampire Diaries is back, but for its eighth and final season.

In the season 7 finale, Damon and Enzo have their “humanity” taken away and are given the job of killing innocent people. The life of a vampire, right? Elena is still in a coffin fast asleep, Bonnie is still in love with Enzo and practicing her witch powers, and Stefan is still with Caroline while she’s raising her and Alaric’s twin girls.

On October 21st at 9, the final season premier began. Fans were super excited for this season because the trailers kept them on the edge of their seats.

To start off the show, it gave us an inside scoop on Enzo and Damon’s updated life. They are both still killing people like they don’t have a care in the world, and they seemed to have completely forgotten about their friends and family. Bonnie continues to worry for Enzo as Stefan continues to worry about his brother, Damon.

Caroline and Alaric have hired a nanny for their twin girls, and things are turning out well except for one incident. They soon decide that Caroline living 30 minutes away from her kids was too far, so she moved out of her childhood home into the Salvatore house. After Stefan gives her the official welcome home tour, there is a special surprise, or surprises that are waiting for her once she gets there.

While Alaric is at work, his newest employee has some secrets that he tries to discover while they work on his latest project. They try to find the best things for this project to be the best it can be.

A woman comes into the show in the second episode and tries to control Damon and Enzo’s personality. It works for one of them, and it causes someone’s life to be lost.

After only two episodes, this season has had its ups and downs. Relationships will be tested, friendships may be lost, families may break and some may even come closer together.

Let’s see what happens next time in Mystic Falls.
