This summer will be incomplete without cooling off at Belmar’s hottest new restaurant, Playa Bowls. Sold on 803 Ocean Ave, Belmar NJ 07719, these gorgeous, delicious, and nutritious fruit bowls have been dominating Instagram accounts left and right. So what is the hype about Playa Bowls, anyway?

Belmar residents, Rob and Abby, first created Playa Bowls when they had the idea of sharing tasty acai bowls with their fellow beachgoers. The first Playa Bowl stand started on 8th and Ocean in Belmar. The menu featured bright smoothie bowls filled with various fruit and granola.

Since then, the fresh fruit and smoothie stand has expanded to everybody on the Jersey Shore, as shown by how long the line is nearly every day. The menu has grown to accommodate all. They offer smoothies, acai bowls, and pitaya bowls, each ranging from $8-$10. Playa Bowls offers a wide range of tastes, ranging from classic smoothies, like the Strawberry Banana smoothie, to innovative treats, like the Electric Mermaid Pitaya Bowl.

Most iconic of these bowls is their signature beauty. The bright purple of the berry smoothies matches swimmingly with the orange mangoes and pink strawberries.

However, it seems the idea of acai bowls is growing in popularity. For those who find Belmar is a bit too far to enjoy these treats, never fear! Frutta Bowls is opening in Howell, at 2231 Route 9 North Howell, NJ 07731.

Frutta Bowls, opening soon, will be selling Acai, Pitaya, and Kale Bowls and Smoothies at a more convenient location for Monmouth County residents. They open on May 19th; the grand opening is on May 21st.
