WHAT IS AN ESCAPE ROOM?

An escape room is exactly what it sounds like! All around the country these interactive experiences have been all the rage. You and your friends get locked in a room (don’t worry, there is an emergency switch just in case you freak the hell out and start clawing at the walls) and you figure out a way to escape. It’s a great way to do something different with your friends! Our location has five different awesome rooms, their descriptions are as followed:

The Hemingway Room: Transport yourselves to an early 1900’s Hemingway-inspired writing room. Ernest himself has written you into a locked room scene! A clever mind and a keen eye will aid in escaping the author’s grasp. Fear not, though, a previous knowledge of Hemingway or his works is not needed! We recommend this room for beginners.

The Black and White Room: Nothing’s quite so black and white as the right and wrong answers… to locks and puzzles, that is! An escape room of pure logic and observation, multiple minds and teamwork are required for this room. But beware, your eyes may play tricks on you as not everything will be as it seems.

The Secret Agent Room: Welcome to field training, recruits. You have been selected to become our new operatives. Make your way through this room as we test your sharp eyes, your quick mind, and your aptitude at using our special gadgets as you only have 60 minutes before forced extraction. Make it out in time, and you may just have the skills necessary to be a secret agent.

The Hangover Room: What time is it? Imagine waking up in a room you have no recollection of. It must have been some night, huh? Stumble your way through this 18+ only room trying to figure out how to unlock the door. Maybe you’ll remember some things along the trip, or maybe you’ll want to forget some things too.

The Samurai Room: More than just master warriors, samurai also needed their minds to be as sharp as their swords. Here, you will hone those skills as you try to escape this Japanese-inspired room. An hour feels like a lifetime for those engaged in battle, but you will need to be quick of wit to overcome this challenge facing you. This room usually proves to be most difficult.

HOW MUCH IS IT?

The charge is $29.95 (which includes tax) per person to test their skills. However, your Patriot Card offers a 10% discount! For a date night, this kind of thing is perfect. It builds trust, shows teamwork, and is a pretty interesting challenge.

WHY SHOULD I GO?

It’s brand spankin’ new. It’s something unique and crazy and it’s a straight up adventure. Everybody always complains about having nothing to do on a Friday night and how Freehold is “so lame,” — this is the solution! Try it once and you’ll be hooked. (You should also check it out because I freaking work there!)
