With 2015 coming to an end, people should take a look back on the year that just occurred. So much has happened in the world this year and also so much must have happened in people’s personal life. No matter what was happening, something that most people always look to is music. If someone is upset about something, they could listen to sad or more meaningful lyrics in music. If someone is having a party, they could have all the hit songs playing for people to enjoy themselves with. If someone is in a really good mood, they can keep their favorite song on repeat all day. A lot of people couldn’t even live without music because it plays such a major role in most people’s everyday life. 2015 was an amazing year of new music and comeback artists. Let’s take a moment to look back some of the top hit songs of 2015.
5. See You Again by Wiz Khalifa
This track was released on March 17, 2015. It was recorded for the soundtrack of the action film Furious 7. It was made in tribute to the late Paul Walker. Walker had died in a single-vehicle accident while the film was still in the making. “See You Again” was a major hit and was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 non-consecutive weeks. The track was also very successful outside of the country. The song held a lot of meaning because of its role in the movie Furious 7 and because of how popular it became.

4. Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars
This track was released in November of 2014 but became a hit in 2015 because of the uprising attention it received. This song also received two Grammy Award nominations for the Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. It spent fourteen consecutive weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100’s number one. It topped the charts in other countries such as Australia, France, New Zealand and Canada. This was a song that everyone loved… until they heard it a million times played on the radio. This song had set a new record for the highest number of streams in one week in the US, with 4.8 million streams which means pretty much everyone had heard the song more than enough times.

3. Hotline Bling by Drake
This track was released in July as a single. It reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100. This track became Drake’s first top-10 single in two years. The music video was released in October and received a lot of attention from the public. Most people find the video very humourous because of Drake’s dance moves and that caused even more popularity towards this track and the music video.

2. Hello by Adele
This track was released in October and immediately people fell in love. This is Adele’s third studio album and this song is a major comeback for her. It had the largest opening week sales in three years. This song is Adele’s fourth number-one on the chart of Billboard Hot 100. The music video for the song broke the Vevo record by achieving over 27.7 million views within 24 hours. This single was followed by the release of her new album 25 and now Adele is officially back.

1.Sorry by Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber, a Canadian singer, recorded this song for his fourth studio album Purpose. As the second single from the album, this song was released in October. It peaked number one on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart. This song is Justin’s third chart topper and his second in the dance music category. Similar to Adele, Justin Bieber is now back on track as he makes his comeback into the music industry.

2015 was a great year with new music always playing and different things always happening. 2016 can bring even better music and who knows what other artists may follow Adele and Justin Bieber’s footsteps and make a comeback.
