Vendor Fair Brings Holiday Shopping to FTHS
December 6, 2015
On Wednesday, November 18th, the FTHS Patriot Pride Committee hosted a winter holiday shopathon. It included vendors such as Pink Zebra, Thirty-One, Tastefully Simple, Jamberry, Brooke Gagliano Personal Training, Mary Kay, and much more.
When a customer signed up for the fair, they were given a sheet of paper with all of the vendors and tickets for door prizes. As people would talk to a vendor about their product, the customers would get a sticker on that vendor so they have a better chance to get a door prize.
Each vendor had something new and interesting, which made each booth a huge success. Overall, the vendor fair was a huge hit.
This fair would not have been possible without Mrs. Rattien. She wanted to start up a function that would be useful for everyone, the consumer and the vendor.
When asked why she chose to bring her idea of a vendor fair to FTHS, she responded, “I am a vendor myself and I’ve been to a lot of these vendor fairs so I knew all of the good and bad things to take from them. The fair is good for all of the small businesses out there. It also helps bring in money for the school.”
To get people excited about the fair and all the vendors Mrs. Rattien rounded up, the sheet of all the shoppers were handed doubled as a shopping list, “It helps the small businesses get more people interested and I think it would help get more buyers to come and check everything out. When I went to the vendor fairs, I found that a lot of people weren’t interacting with their customers, and with the paper, you’re able to find out more about the business and the people running it.”
A lot of people were at the fair on the 18th, and that’s exactly what Mrs. Rattien wanted. “It’s targeted for the teachers in the district as well as all of the families in the community that are looking for cute holiday gifts.”
