Welcome Back, NBA!
October 20, 2015
The 2015-16 NBA season begins tonight, and that means it is only right to start making predictions on the top team in each conference and the most valuable player.
Let’s start off with the best team in the Eastern Conference: the Cleveland Cavaliers. With the seemingly unguardable 6’8 LeBron James leading the way, the Cavaliers will be a dangerous team. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love will also be threats when on the floor, and second year head coach David Blatt will most likely do a better job this year. The Patriot Press projects them to finish with a 69-13 record and return to the finals for the second straight season.
Next, the best team in the Western Conference will be the San Antonio Spurs. After losing in the 1st round to the Clippers, this team will look to rebound and make a push deep into the playoffs. With the signing of all-star forward LaMarcus Aldridge, the Spurs will inject fear into all of their opponents this season. Veteran players Tony Parker and Tim Duncan and veteran head coach Greg Popovich will lead this team to a 70-12 record and a place in the NBA Finals.
Lastly, who will win the NBA MVP? Many names get thrown out there when this topic comes up, such as James Harden, LeBron James, and Stephen Curry. But this season New Orleans Pelicans star power forward Anthony Davis will take home the award. Davis will continue to improve this year after an amazing 2015 campaign in which he led the Pelicans to the playoffs and had a great statistical season.
The 2015-16 NBA season should be a great one and we can’t wait for tip-off tonight!
