Welcome back! Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season has been completed. This week, special teams remained on their game, some new QBs have been thrusted into the spotlight, and more teams have been banged up with injuries. Here’s what you need to be caught up on!
Seahawks defeat banged-up Cardinals on Thursday Night Football in inaugural ‘Nike NFL Rivalries’ game with game-winning field goal
Despite Arizona being down 20-6 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, QB Kyler Murray led two touchdown drives to tie the game at 20 with 0:28 left. The Seahawks responded by marching their way down the field in four plays to kick a game-winning 52-yard field goal with kicker Jason Myers as time expired. Seattle took the inaugural NFL Rivalries jersey game by a score of 23-20. Unfortunately, the Cardinals lost yet another running back in Trey Benson, who was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Steelers win the inaugural NFL game in Dublin, Ireland over Minnesota Vikings, spoiling Addison’s return from suspension
Vikings WR Jordan Addison may have caught four passes for 114 yards in his return from a three-game PED suspension, and Justin Jefferson may have had 126 yards receiving on 10 catches… but it was not enough for the Vikings to prevail over Pittsburgh. The final drive of the game was full of penalties on both sides, but the Steelers turned Minnesota over on downs. QB Aaron Rodgers went 18/22 for 200 yards and a touchdown, and RB Kenneth Gainwell rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries after starter Jaylen Warren missed the game due to injury. Oh, the luck of the Irish.
Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart ends first NFL start in style with 21-18 upset victory over Chargers at home, as Nabers tears ACL
It was a perfect day for Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants, who won their first game of the season. Dart went 13/20 for 111 yards and a touchdown passing and also rushed for 54 yards on 10 carries with a TD on the ground. The Giants defeated the Chargers for the first time since 1998. However, Giants WR Malik Nabers has torn his ACL and will be out for the season. Is the Giants receiving core in trouble?
Eagles put Buccaneers, Mayfield comeback plans to waste with a 31-25 victory at Raymond James Stadium
Tampa Bay was down by 21 points towards the end of the first half and found themselves down by eight after kicking a field goal and forcing three Eagles punts. However, Baker Mayfield and Tampa’s comeback efforts came up short after being turned over on downs as Philly held on, 31-25. Eagles TE Dallas Goedert had two receiving touchdowns. As if Mike Evans’s injury wasn’t enough, Tampa Bay will be without multiple starters next week, including RB Bucky Irving, and DBs Jamel Dean and Christian Izien.
Matthew Stafford throws late touchdown to WR Tutu Atwell, Rams triumph over Colts at home 27-20
After forcing a Colts punt with under two minutes remaining, it only took a one-play, 88-yard touchdown strike from Rams QB Matthew Stafford to WR Tutu Atwell, giving the Rams a 27-20 lead with 1:33 left. Rams DB Kamren Curl picked off Colts QB Daniel Jones twice; once in the first quarter, and another in the fourth to seal Los Angeles’s home victory over Indianapolis. The lowlight of the game came from Colts WR Adonai Mitchell, who fumbled a 75-yard pass in the end zone for a touchback in the third quarter that would have given the Colts a three-point lead.
Jaguars travel to Santa Clara and beat 49ers 26-21, as 49ers injury problems persist
The Jaguars defense recorded four turnovers, and RB Travis Etienne Jr. rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. LB Devin Lloyd recorded two interceptions and return specialist Parker Washington returned an 87-yard punt for a touchdown in the third quarter. Despite being healthy for this game, 49ers QB Brock Purdy and WRs Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall will not play in Inglewood next Thursday night due to injury. This is Jacksonville’s first win over San Francisco since 2005, and Liam Coen’s first road win as Jaguars head coach.
Bears block potential Raiders go-ahead field goal, hold on for 25-24 road win
Chicago CB Josh Blackwell played the role of game-saving hero by blocking a 54-yard try from Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson that would have given Las Vegas the lead with 0:38 remaining. Not only did this spoil Vegas RB Ashton Jeanty’s breakout 21-carry, 138-yard, one TD performance, but Bears coach Ben Johnson got his first road head coaching win.
Chiefs return to winning ways, beat injury-plagued Ravens at home 37-20
The Chiefs took a 13-7 lead in the second quarter with a Patrick Mahomes 4-yard touchdown pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster and never looked back. Mahomes finished 25/37 with 270 yards and four touchdowns. Unfortunately for the Ravens, Lamar Jackson suffered a hamstring injury in the third quarter and has been ruled out for next week’s game vs. the Dolphins. DT Nnamdi Madubike was also ruled out for the season with a neck injury.
Packers and Cowboys end Sunday Night Football with the league’s first tie game since December 2022
In a shocking outcome on Sunday Night in Arlington, the Packers and Cowboys recorded the NFL’s first tie since December 4, 2022. Packers K Brandon McManus hit a 53-yard field goal as time expired to send the game to OT. Cowboys K Brandon Aubrey converted a 22-yarder with 4:40 remaining, and McManus kicked a 34-yarder to end the game in a tie. QBs Jordan Love and Dak Prescott both had over 300 yards passing, exactly 31 completions, and three touchdowns each. Green Bay WR Romeo Doubs caught three touchdowns on six receptions for 58 yards, and RB Josh Jacobs rushed for two touchdowns on 22 carries for 86 yards. Dallas WR George Pickens hauled in two touchdowns to go with eight receptions for 134 yards.
Dolphins, Broncos leave Monday Night Football doubleheader with wins
The Dolphins won their first game of the season over the New York Jets at home, 27-21, on Monday Night Football. Miami TE Darren Waller caught his first two touchdown passes since returning to the league after a season of retirement, and RB De’Von Achane rushed for 99 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown. The Jets remain winless under coach Aaron Glenn, at 0-4. Miami has also lost WR Tyreek Hill for the season after tearing multiple ligaments in his knee. Is this the end of Hill in Miami?
The Broncos also ended up victorious on MNF at home over the Cincinnati Bengals, 28-3. Cincinnati ended their opening drive with a field goal and did not score for the rest of the game. Broncos QB Bo Nix ended the night 29/42 for 326 yards, two TDs, and an interception.
