Bad Bunny was officially announced as the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show performer. Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) has a highly decorated discography, and with his reputation as a dominating force in the music industry, it’s easy to understand why he was chosen. Some of his most notable achievements include multiple Grammy Awards and over a dozen Latin Grammy Awards. Bad Bunny has also been the most-streamed artist on Spotify for the last three years, and he officially became the first artist to have an all-Spanish album reach number one on the Billboard chart. These achievements help highlight just how accomplished and successful his career has been.

Bad Bunny’s most famous song is DÁKITI, having racked up an astounding 2.3 billion streams. Some of Bunny’s other notable songs, like LA CANCIÓN and Me Porto Bonito have eclipsed 2.2 billion and 2.1 billion streams, respectively. Bad Bunny, as an artist and Latin music pioneer, has garnered an unfathomable amount of streams on Spotify—with over 100 billion total streams!
Bad Bunny was not the only artist that was considered for the big stage, as speculation about Adele and Taylor Swift as possible headliners had also surfaced. Adele reportedly declined the halftime show because she believes that the style of performance of the historic halftime show doesn’t suit her personal style of artistry. Interestingly enough, this was the same answer she gave in regards to the 2016 Halftime Show. As for Taylor Swift, according to Yahoo News, she rejected the halftime show because the NFL refused to accept her terms under which her songs were used. Swift wanted a deal that showcased her impeccable value as an artist, which was especially important to her, considering that she didn’t really need the exposure the NFL would provide her with. Because of these factors, she ultimately didn’t accept the terms that the NFL proposed.
Nevertheless, it’s almost certain that Bad Bunny will deliver an electric and remarkable performance, and with the amount of publicity the Super Bowl Halftime Show receives, it’s easy to predict that the 2026 Halftime Show will likely become the most-watched in NFL history.
