Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season has concluded. From shockers to heartbreak, to same old, same old… Here’s everything you need to know!
The Packers start 2-0 by defeating Commanders at home on Thursday Night Football, 27-19. Daniels sprains knee and Ekeler is done for the season!
Packers TE Tucker Kraft’s legacy game consisted of six receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown in TNF on Prime’s season opener in Green Bay. While the Packers’ Super Bowl expectations continue to rise, the Commanders’ are beginning to fall, thanks to QB Jayden Daniels’s knee sprain and RB Austin Ekeler’s season-ending torn achilles. Jacory Croskey-Merritt, it’s time!
Giants fail to end drought vs. Dallas, Cowboys win in OT 40-37 with 64-yard field goal to tie in regulation!
Russell Wilson’s three TDs, Malik Nabers’s two, and Cam Skattebo’s first career touchdown, as well as Wilson’s 30-41, 450-yard day were put to ruins. Former MLS draft pick Brandon Aubrey hit a tying 64-yard field goal as time expired in regulation, then hit a walk-off 46-yarder to walk it off for Dallas. Brian Schottenheimer earns his first win as head coach, 6,832 days after his father, Marty, won his final game. The G-Men haven’t beaten Dallas since January 3, 2021.
Justin Fields sidelined with a concussion as Jets fall to Bills, 30-10
Fields was replaced by Tyrod Taylor in the fourth quarter, who will be starting for the Jets in Tampa Bay next week. Bills QB Josh Allen also suffered a bloody nose at the end of the first quarter, but returned shortly after. What did Antonio Brown do last time the Jets faced the Bucs?
Lions offense back in business with 52-21 win over Bears in home opener
Jared Goff’s 334 yards, five touchdowns, and three touchdowns to WR Amon-Ra St. Brown is enough to spoil Bears HC Ben Johnson’s homecoming. A much-needed bounce back game for Dan Campbell, John Morton, and the Motor City.
Patriots hold off Dolphins 33-27 thanks to Gibson’s 90-yard kick return TD, despite rough day for Borregales
Mike Vrabel gets his first win as Patriots head coach, despite rookie kicker Andy Borregales going 1 for 3 on extra point attempts. Just when Dolphins returner Malik Washington thought his 74-yard punt return touchdown would haunt their rivals, Patriots returner Antonio Gibson responded with a 90-yard kick return TD on the very next drive. Pats QB Drake Maye had two touchdowns through the air, and one on the ground.
Bengals defeat Jaguars 31-27, Burrow suffers grueling toe injury
Bengals QB Joe Burrow will be missing three months with a turf toe injury suffered in the second quarter. Backup QB Jake Browning’s late 15-play, 92-yard touchdown drive with 0:18 left was enough to hold off Duval County, after turning them over on downs the previous drive. Preseason legend Mitchell Tinsley also had a touchdown in the third quarter. Browning is the only man that can save Cincy’s season.
Purdy-less 49ers hold off Saints, 26-21
Spencer Rattler’s record as a starting QB falls to 0-8, as Mac Jones gets his first win as the 49ers’ interim starting QB by throwing 26/39 for 279 yards and three touchdowns. His first was to TE Luke Farrell, which was his first NFL touchdown for the Ohio State alum.
Costly leverage penalty from Broncos gives Colts second chance to kick game-winning field goal, win 29-28
A missed 42-yard field goal by kicker Wil Lutz comes back to haunt Denver, as Colts kicker Spencer Shrader’s missed 60-yarder is nixed due to a leverage penalty called on Broncos LB Dondrea Tillman. Shrader connected on a 45-yard field goal to give Indianapolis their first 2-0 start since the 2009 season. The Colts could be AFC South contenders.
Eagles defeat Chiefs in Super Bowl rematch at Arrowhead, 20-17
The Chiefs begin 0-2 for the first time since 2014, and for the first time in Patrick Mahomes’s NFL career. Neither QB threw for more than 200 yards, with only one of the four touchdowns being caught, thanks to Chiefs WR Tyquan Thornton. Eagles DB Andrew Mukuba’s interception early in the fourth quarter set up the touchdown drive that helped the Birds hold on.
JJ McCarthy suffers high ankle sprain as Vikings fall to Falcons, 22-6, on Sunday Night Football
McCarthy gets one step closer to NFL bust status after being injured and throwing two interceptions in the SNF slugfest, falling to familiar foe Michael Penix, Jr. in their first matchup since the 2024 National Championship. Falcons RB Bijan Robinson had 22 carries for 143 yards. Carson Wentz will start vs. the Bengals in the “Injury Bowl” next week.
Bucs, Chargers get dubs over Texans, Raiders on Monday Night Football doubleheader
QB Baker Mayfield threw two touchdowns to go along with 25/38 for 215 yards. RB Rachaad White punched in the go-ahead touchdown over Houston with 0:06 remaining, as the Texans’ continue their sluggish start to the season.
The Chargers start the season 2-0 after defeating their division rival Raiders, 20-9, in their second straight primetime matchup. QB Justin Herbert threw 19/27 for 242 yards and two touchdowns.
