Just yesterday, March 26th (as of time of writing), Marvel Studios shocked the world with announcing the “full” cast of Avengers: Doomsday. YEAH.
Let’s first talk about the actual announcement itself. Earlier in the day, insiders reported that Marvel had a big announcement lined up for the day, one that was apparently bigger than the announcement of Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom in the film. This ended up being true, as the only thing bigger than announcing one actor, was announcing 27 of them.
At 11:00 in the morning on Thursday, Marvel Studios started a live-stream on each of their social media platforms, simply titled “ANNOUNCEMENT”. This stayed the same on Instagram and X (Twitter), until it was changed on YouTube to “Avengers: Doomsday |
Cast Announce”, confirming what the stream meant. The live-stream started with a shocker in itself, the back of an actor’s set chair with Chris Hemsworth’s name embroidered on the back. Over the next five hours and twenty seven minutes, (I’m not joking), Marvel revealed a new name on a new chair about every 15 minutes. I’m linking to Marvel’s short version here, just in case you guys would like to see. On social media, the craze started instantly. I was present for the whole fiasco, and got to witness the craziest reveals live. On social media, media outcry started over the stream being “boring”, and some tuned out instantly. However, Marvel took a gamble, and it paid off. Throughout the entire steam, Marvel got 275 MILLION viewers, becoming the biggest Marvel Studios live-stream ever. On X (Twitter), Marvel got 10 million viewers watching at the same time at its peak. 55 trending tags were produced on X, and on YouTube, the stream shot up to #2 on trending. It. Was. Insane. But, before we keep talking about how insane this live-stream was, let’s get to the craziest thing of all. The reveals.
Marvel revealed 27 names, and 27 incredible actors. Let’s go through them all right now! And, yeah, they are absolutely crazy.

These were the cast members that were named, and are truly some of the most wild names, and definitely not expected. It seems that Marvel is truly banking on having the X-Men in this film, and interacting with the Avengers. This movie has so many amazing characters and actors, and Marvel is banking on it all working. Honestly, I think it will. The live-stream ended with RDJ walking into the room, interacting with the camera, and leaving in typical RDJ fashion.
But wait. What? Where’s Doctor Strange or Scarlet Witch? WHERE’S SPIDER-MAN? Well, as RDJ and Marvel teased after the live-stream, “There’s always room for more…”
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday has now entered full fledged production, with directors the Russo Brothers to begin filming soon. Doomsday enters theaters on May 1st, 2026, and I for one will be seated immediately.
