For these weeks of games, think about it as years of pent-up frustration and aggression being unleashed in a single season, the past changing the outcomes of these games today. Well mostly the past influencing the outcome of the first game, everything else, your expectations for these teams can just be chucked like Joe Milton III throwing a deep ball.
Week 5:
Washington @ Rutgers: Rutgers wins 21-18
“The Pac-7 and MW fought to the death, fighting over Texas St, Sacramento St, and Hawaii. QBs and other Players have declared what many fans refer to as “Treason” as players willingly redshirt for failing to receive promised NIL funding via “Venmo Handshake”. Boundaries break as the colleges of the Former Pac-12 leave for the promised “TV Deals” and “Delta Flyer Points”. Covid year making players more eligible than veterans in the NFL. Because of this, Kansas becomes cursed, Texas comes down with “We Are So Back/It’s So Over” Fever, Nebraska finally makes a bowl game, and possibilities that never seem to happen in the next millennia could occur in the same season…
Just so an Undefeated Rutgers could defeat a previous CFP contender, Washington, in the Huskies’ inaugural BIG TEN season under the Friday Night Lights on FOX. – Some Reddit User
Arizona @ Utah: Arizona wins 23-10
Remember when we thought Utah was going to easily win the BIG12, because of all the times they ruined the potential of the PAC-12 making the playoffs? Unfortunately for them, Arizona decided for one last game that they were going to return to their world beaters of last year, and shatter those hopes. Soon after that, the two teams went into an absolute free fall, not even sniffing a bowl game in the process.
Oklahoma St @ Kansas St: Kansas State wins 42-20
Do-Or-Die Situation already in Week 5 in the BIG12. Ranked matchup to determine who can keep up in the potential playoff hunt, and who would be exposed as the major fraud. Kansas State showed up. Oklahoma State decide,d “Hey, we have no offensive line, Ollie Gordon can’t run for his life, and our defense can’t stop a feather”, so they proceeded to lie down and die.
Week 6:
Syracuse @ UNLV: Syracuse wins 44-41 (OT)
Do you want an overtime classic this season? Did you expect it to come from the great powerhouses of Syracuse or UNLV? Well, no one did, but at the same time, all the classics come from teams that you never expect. Such as the case with this thriller, down in Vegas, the Orange managed to squeeze out another classic from this season, even under the Friday Night Lights.
Tulane @ UAB: Tulane wins 71-20
When everyone was watching the absolute madness of the reincarnated 2007 season of Week 6, Tulane was out here putting up 71 (!) points against Damm UAB. If this isn’t a sign that former Super Bowl Champion, now UAB head coach Trent Dilfer, is to get the heck out of Alabama, I don’t know what else will make him leave.
Missouri @ Texas A&M: Texas A&M wins 41-10
One of the first games played on that legendary Week 6 happened to be another ranked SEC showdown between the Tigers and the Aggies. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the upsets had to start somewhere, so they would be the first victim in the upset week of the century. And the Aggies didn’t just want any hard-fought matchup, they wanted to send a message to the rest of the SEC…until the Longhorns decided to not take that message seriously.
