The Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity has a very simple vision: “a world where everyone has a decent place to live”
An international, nonprofit housing organization, the principles of the MCHFH involve focusing on shelter, advocating for affordable housing, promoting dignity and hope, and supporting sustainable and transformational development. They also work to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ, given they operate on Christian values. However, those who need their support do not have to adhere to Christianity in order to gain their assistance; “All are welcome”, as their site states.
Recently, the volunteers at the MCHFH have reached out to FTHS in hopes of
finding people to help unload and move furniture and goods from their trucks and into the ReStore. Volunteers can come any day at any time, and the store is open on Wednesdays to Saturdays 10AM to 5PM.
FTHS also supported the MCHFH by helping them raise $280 in one day for Habitat for Humanity in honor of former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away earlier this month.
All in all, if you are looking for a way to make a difference in the Freehold community, definitely reach out to the Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity’s Restore in Freehold and check out their website, monmouthhabitat.org.
