With indoor sports on their yearly rise during the winter, it is time for FTHS Bowling to return as well. Coach Tony Martinez led the Patriots to an astonishing 17-1 season, going 15-0 in the regular season. The previous season concluded with a heartbreaking loss to Eastern in the final round of the NJSIAA State Tournament.
The season opens up with a home matchup vs. Colts Neck on December 5. They will visit Jackson Memorial on December 9, followed by another home match on December 11 against New Egypt.
The team will play its only doubleheader on December 16, facing off against Jackson Liberty as a road team and Manalapan as a home team. They will visit Jackson Liberty for the second time in three days on December 18.
2025 kicks off with the first of three matchups against Howell on the road. Then, it’s two straight home matches on January 9 and 15 against New Egypt and Manalapan, respectively.
Two road matchups at Jackson Liberty and Howell will follow on January 16 and 22. Following this trip, Senior Day will be held on January 27, facing off against New Egypt.
The season concludes with three excursions to Manalapan, Howell, and Jackson Liberty on January 30, February 5, and February 10. So, the Pats will play every team except for Colts Neck multiple times this year.
Senior Bowlers Brighton Boyce, Jonah Gosein, and TCNJ commit Zach Dorner will look to shine in their final season. They are joined by experienced sophomores Danny Kwak and Rocco Marinich. Boyce is the highest-returning bowler in nearly every category from the previous season, except for Dorner’s 268 HG compared to Boyce’s 265 HG.
