Since July 22, 2022, the group New Jeans has been a hit in the K-pop and western music industry. They won 66 awards in the 2 years they have played as a group and are the 3rd most listened to girl K-pop group in the world. Recently on November 28, 2024, at a late-night press conference members Haerin, Danielle, Hanni, Minji, and Hyein announced the group break up due to alleged breach of contract by ADOR and HYBE. The group announced they were leaving for reasons such as abuse, mistreatment, and manipulation from the agency. At first, the agency denies any mistreatment to the members but later in the conference, admits to the abuse of members. But despite the news of New Jeans not being able to perform any of their hits, like Hype Boy or Super Shy, again, the group promises to make a new debut as a new group in the future.
Despite the controversy between the agency and the group, New Jeans will forever be remembered by beloved fans. They had made a big impact on the K-Pop industry, with many groups being inspired in the two years that they were together, reflecting on their 2022 debut “Ditto” which started their popularity and fame.
