At this year’s Homecoming Pep Rally, the student body was presented with the 2024 Homecoming Court for the FTHS underclassmen. The Patriot Press was able to talk to the princes and princesses and get their insight on becoming FTHS royalty.
First, the court for freshman class was announced by Pep Rally MC, Mr. Leahy. The prince turned out to be Giuseppe Romano, who told the Press he was “very excited” about being crowned prince. Meanwhile, princess Emily Ryszetnyk claimed that she was both “surprised” and “happy” about her win. They also told the press that they were very much enjoying their first pep rally, and that it had become their favorite part of Homecoming week.
The sophomores crowned this year were Prince Shrivatsan Nandakumar and Princess Natalie Briggs. Similarly to the freshmen, Natalie was as excited as she was shocked to hear her name be called, especially since she had also been crowned princess the previous year. Shrivatsan was also in shock, stating that he “didn’t know how to feel, but was still very happy with the reward”.
Moving on, juniors Dean Macksoud and Mariah Andujar were crowned prince and princess of their class, and were very happy to be chosen by their grade level.
Last but not the least, the Senior Homecoming Court was announced, but Mr. Leahy did not reveal the King and Queen, as they would go on to be crowned at the game that night. Want to know who got the crowns? Then, make sure to check out the Press’s article about the 2024 Homecoming Game to find out.
All in all, the crowning of the FTHS Homecoming Court always makes Homecoming week even more special. By highlighting certain students, who go on to be cheered on by their peers, this event truly brings everyone together.
