“As a musician, my goal is to bring jazz and classical music to my generation through a more accessible road,” proclaimed the first artist of the month Laufey. 24-year-old composer, singer, and Jazz artist Laufey Lín Bing Jónsdóttir, an Icelandic singer, has been soaring into the music world since 2020. Most of her songs are modern jazz and related to relationships and love. Her songs are said to make people smile and sing, jump up and dance, or even cry. 

Receiving her first Grammy in 2024 at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, Laufey won the award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for her album Bewitched. 2 years before, in 2022, she had become the number 1 jazz artist on Spotify. 

Although her journey has just started, Laufey has been making music for years She started at age 4, learned how to play the piano, and then at 8 years old learned how to play the cello. Back in 2012, she released her first song “Meiri snjó, and her love for singing and playing grew. From going on Islands Got Talent and being a finalist. Back in 2021, she got much recognition for her debut release Typical of Me, and her fame only just growing.
