Hi y’all! Because we’re in the middle of December, and sometimes you need a good set of songs to get you through the dark, cold days of the winter, here are five songs guaranteed to make you feel a little warmer during these chilly days.
Monday: “Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” by Dean Martin (1959)
One of my favorite parts about the winter is the snow. I love to put on my biggest and comfiest hoodie, and I sit by the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate and watch the snow come down.
Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” is a great song to listen to during the wintertime, and a great song to get you through a dark winter Monday morning.
Tuesday: “Let it Go” by Idina Menzel (2013)
I love the movie Frozen. I have to admit, even though I am a high schooler, I still love the music, the characters, and the message in the 2013 Disney Movie. “Let it Go” is definitely the most iconic song from the movie, and it’s no mistake this song was and still is a huge hit. This song is a perfect song to sing to and make your Tuesday a little bit better.
Wednesday: “Sweater Weather” by The Neighbourhood (2013)
Sweater Weather is definitely a great alternative winter song. Jesse Rutherfords’ vocals perfectly fit the song and its indie/alternative sound and feel. Whenever you need an awesome Wednesday winter tune, “Sweater Weather” is the way to go.
Thursday: “Back to December” by Taylor Swift (2010)
“Back to December” is a slow, thoughtful song by Taylor Swift about asking for forgiveness from a past lover. It’s a slow-tempo ballad that both has country and pop elements, and is a great choice for this time of year.
Friday: “Winter Wonderland” by Michael Bublé (2011)
The final song on this winter edition of Listen Up! is “Winter Wonderland” by Michael Bublé. “Winter Wonderland” is an classic holiday song that showcases all the beauty that winter has to offer.
I hope everyone has a wonderful wintertime and holiday season and stay tuned for the next Listen Up! Thanks!
