A Spooky Night at Haunted High School
October 28, 2022
On October 25, club members of Freehold Township High School prepared for a wonderful night full of spooky activities, games, and entertainment for the children of the town. Haunted High School is a yearly tradition at FTHS. All different clubs come together to decorate the cafeteria and classrooms with decorations and activities for the children to enjoy. Kids enjoyed trick or treating and playing fun games, with each table having a new adventure awaiting.
The band played classic Halloween tunes, like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” and the Art Club, gave face painting out to aspiring little artists.
I stayed after school with fellow student officer Isabella Novera to help out with the Student Government. Isabella says, “Haunted High School was super fun to set up and volunteer at. I came early to put up decorations and it was really cool to see all the kids enjoy all the games and effort we put in.” We set up for a beanbag toss and ring toss. All of the children were dressed up adorably in their favorite costumes.
In addition to SGA, I worked with TSA, making spider parachutes. All the children enjoyed coloring and trying to land their parachutes on the target.
The sea of smiling faces definitely proved that the night was a great success! Every person enjoyed themselves, whether parent, high school volunteer, or child. The cotton candy, music, and chocolates all added to the festivities. If you were not able to make it this year, definitely add it to your calendar for next year. It is an event you definitely do not want to miss!
