The Day We Went In-ZAYN!

For most teenagers around the globe, their world came crashing down on Wednesday, March 25. Zayn Malik, from the popular boyband, One Direction, has left.

The cause of this? Stress.

Now you may be thinking to yourself: “How could he be stressed out if all he does is sing and become rich and famous?” The truth is, Zayn never even wanted to try out for The XFactor, which is the show that the band came together on. His mother had to drag him out of bed so he would make it to the auditions in time.

Ever since the five became a band, you could tell that there was something off about him; he was always the quiet one. When the band was preforming on the Today Show in November 2014 to debut their new album Four, Zayn was still in the UK due to a “sickness.” This was just the beginning of the downfall.

During these past couple months, there have been multiple rumors about him cheating on his fiancé, Perrie Edwards, and false things in the news about him doing drugs. On March 18, Malik tweeted, “I’m 22 years old…  I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there’s a lot of jealous [sic] in this world I’m sorry for what it looks like x.” Soon after that, news spread that he was going to take a break for their concert tour while the rest of the boys performed in Manila, Philippines and Jakarta, Indonesia.

A week after that is when it was official that Zayn Malik had left the band after a strong four-and-a-half years.

“Zayn leaving is really depressing to everyone who is a fan of One Direction,” says Abby Napier, sophomore.  “His happiness is what is important and if he needs to leave to find himself, he should have it. I am sure the four other boys will do very well in the rest of their singing careers. Zayn will be severely missed though.”

Some fans have blown this whole thing out of proportion and have become really depressed. As “Directioners,” these groups of girls, and boys too, have to respect and love Zayn like he is still in the band.

Sophomore Alessandra Scarpaci had something to add to this situation: “I can’t believe he left the band. He was a huge part of it. Their music will definitely not be the same without him.”

Zayn Malik will certainly be missed in One Direction, as well as his angelic high notes that he has contributed to their music.
