This past week, the musicians participating in the All Shore Jazz Band have been revealed. Before we get to announcing the talented musicians who received the honor of winning their auditions, let’s talk a little more about what the All Shore Jazz Band is and why it is such an important event!

What is the All Shore Jazz Band? 

The All Shore Jazz Band is an event that takes some of the most talented musicians of our local area and allows them to express their talent by playing in the top jazz band. This band is conducted by Mr. Maunez, a teacher in the music department of Manalapan High School. The musically inclined students participating will be creating tracks in order to develop a master mix. The students selected will work hard and long through virtual practices in order to create these elaborate tracks. That is when an All Shore Jazz Band recording will be created to showcase their talent. Unfortunately, with the current Covid-19 restrictions the experience will be completely remote. However, due to these circumstances, the perseverance of the musicians will be more apparent which showcases their talent to another extreme.

Why is getting into the All Shore Jazz Band so important? 

Being able to participate in such an event is not just important for showing off musical talents, but it also demonstrates determination, self-awareness, self-improvement, and even competitiveness. Due to the high level of prestige of this band, the students contributing their much-needed talents will make their dreams even more of a reality through hard work and dedication. Along the way, the students will learn important musical lessons and skills that can be used in the future to pursue their careers. 

Did anyone from Freehold Township get in?

Yes! In fact, Freehold Township contributed the highest number of successful auditioning students in the All Shore Conference, with four talented students being accepted. The following students will be apart of the All Shore Jazz Band:

Victoria Harper on the bass.

Brian Yaniro on the trumpet.

Jacob Goetke on the trombone. 

Douglas Luke on the trombone.
