Mr. FTHS Candidate Profile: Scott Lavelle

Name: Scott Lavelle

Nickname: Scotty The Body

Why do you want to be in Mr. FTHS?
The minute I heard there was a Mr. FTHS freshman year, I immediately wanted to do it. I feel like I bring a lot to the table which includes my school spirit, creativity and positive attitude. It will also allow me to show off a little of my personality.

What does Freehold Township HS mean to you?

Freehold Township High School means the world to me. When I came here four years ago from Howell, I did not have a lot of friends and didn’t think I was going to like it. When I got here, the atmosphere was amazing, and everyone is always having a good time. This is my opportunity to say thank you for embracing me.

What clubs/activities/hobbies are you involved with at FTHS or outside of FTHS?

I was a member of the FTHS football team, and I currently play rugby for the Monmouth Rugby Club. I also work at Eagle Oaks Golf Course.

How would you describe yourself?

I’d describe myself as a relatively laid-back guy. I like joking around, and I am almost always laughing. I have a positive attitude in everything I do, and I think it shows when you meet me. I enjoy trying new things and meeting new people. I also prefer a good face-to-face conversation instead of sending a text message.

Being Mr. FTHS is a huge honor. Why do you think you have what it takes to be Mr. FTHS?

I think I have what it takes to be Mr. FTHS because I’m a jack of all trades. If you need me to dance, I’m gonna dance my little heart out. If you need me to tell a joke, I’ll make sure to put everyone in tears. I consider myself very creative, and this is a great forum for me to show what I can do.

Who is your favorite person and why?

My favorite person has to be my mom because I can go to her for anything when I need advice, and she is also an amazing cook. I think I get my positive attitude from her, and she is always pushing me to work hard and be a better person.

What do you love most about FTHS?

The thing I love most about FTHS is the people that go here. Everyone is so friendly, and it makes my school days so much better. The staff at FTHS always challenges you to do your best, and I can say that I have had to raise my game to do well here.

Where do you see yourself ten years from now?

In ten years from now, I see myself working, have a job that I love, and traveling the world meeting all kinds of new and unique people.

Describe your ideal date?

My ideal date would be a candle light dinner outside. Then, out of nowhere, a band shows up, and we start dancing, preferably to the song “Dancing in the Moonlight.”

What is your passion in life?

My passion in life is to always try new things and put a smile on people’s faces. Everything’s better when you’re smiling, and I try to spread that in everything I do.
