“From The Dining Table” by Harry Styles

This is a slow melancholy song which is sung in sort of a whisper to really emphasize the emotions going through this song. The song talks about what it’s like after a break up and obviously still caring about the other person. Sometimes people even go out of their way just to see them one last time. My favorite line of this song is when Harry says, “even the phone misses your call by the way.” I just love that line so much because he’s implying that he misses this person so much that his phone picked up on it and it now misses the constant messages and calls from them.

“Ruin” by Shawn Mendes

This song is a slower one compared to a lot of Shawn’s other pop and faster songs. I chose to write about this song because I feel like a lot of people can relate to this song. This song talks about Shawn trying to tell someone he doesn’t want to ruin them – he asks many questions throughout the song questioning if someone is thinking about them and how they feel about certain things. Although he says he doesn’t want to ruin someone, he repeats how much he still wants this person in his life.

“Shoutout To My Ex” by Little Mix

This is a sassy comeback to an ex that every girl who’s gone through a breakup needs to hear. This fast tune talks about finally getting over an ex and realizing you’re so much better off without them. This song originally is one of the girls in the band, Perrie Edwards’ message to her ex, Zayn Malik who broke up with her after 3 years for a model named Gigi Hadid. This song is such a petty song and definitely makes everyone feel so good listening to it.

“All I Want Is You” by Barry Louis Polisar

[wpdevart_youtube]JzEs8kYIZ6Y[/wpdevart_youtube]

This is a simple sounding song with just a few instruments. This is one of those songs you listen to when you have a special someone who means alot to you. This song is full of similes and metaphors explaining different good things in life that a special someone compares to. This is such a cute song and I really like this one

“Like I Would” by Zayn

[wpdevart_youtube]pTaqcGz2O5o[/wpdevart_youtube]

This is a song of an entire competition between someone and someone else who both want the same person. Throughout the song Zayn talks about how “he” won’t do anything how zayn did, saying that “he” doesn’t compare and isn’t good enough for the person he’s singing about. Some people think this is his response once he found out his ex, Perrie, supposedly got into another relationship- he says that whoever it was wouldn’t compare to him in any way.
