Help a Family in Need with the NHS Holiday Giving Tree

Lindsey Golotko, Editor-in-Chief

The holiday season is a time to give back to the community, and no one stresses this idea more than the National Honor Society here at Freehold Township High School. This year, the chapter is focusing on helping those in need within the walls of the school. A list was gathered of Township families who are not as financially fortunate as others along with what they wanted for the holidays. Their list was then transcribed on to ornaments and hung on a tree which is currently in the main office. Staff and students alike are encouraged to take an ornament and help out these families with their Christmas/Hanukkah shopping. It is completely anonymous. More detailed instructions will be available in the main office! Be sure to check it out and make someone’s holiday brighter!

If you can help, stop by the main office and follow the steps below:

  1.     Take an ornament from the tree.
  2.     Wrap your gift and then tape the ornament tag back on the gift so the organizers know what it is and what family it is going to.
  3.     Return your wrapped gift to G102 no later than Tuesday, December 19th.

See Ms. Foerg or Mrs. Pollifrone, the NHS advisors, with any questions.
