Do you have a favorite memory or game while playing for Township?

I think my favorite game was our Coaches’ Cup championship game because that was a game I really had to step up for my team as a defensive player and pull through to the end. We were down 15-9 at halftime, and then we came back and won 16-15 to wrap it up. I think it might have been 14-9, but we came back that game, and it was something I really had to step up for and play with my best. We came together as a team, and it was genuinely a well-deserved win. It was definitely my favorite memory.

Who was your biggest inspiration to start playing your sport?

Well, I’m definitely not a big sports-watcher personally. I don’t want to sound cocky, but I’m definitely self-motivated. I always motivate myself every day to get better. When I see that I have potential in what my coaches see in me,it makes me want to become the best player I can be. That definitely was my mindset throughout the whole thing: to be the best player and really get to where I am today.

Do you have a favorite hobby outside of your sport?

Even though my life does consist of lacrosse all the time, I love hanging out with my friends, I played soccer, and I also played basketball for some of my life. That’s pretty much it… and I work.

What are you most looking forward to as a college athlete?

I can’t wait to make new friends and teammates that will turn into my family. I can’t wait to make huge accomplishments for me and for my teammates, and just be there. I hope I get a bunch of playing time; I can’t wait to work towards that. And have new coaches, a fresh start, and make so many memories.

Why did you feel that Lynn was the best fit for you as a student-athlete?

Lynn was definitely my top choice because I saw how successful their lacrosse program was. They’re currently top ten nationally for D2. That was something I really wanted to be on: a good team that competes at high levels. That’s just my sort of drive. I always love to win, and I wanted to be on a team that won. A team that was difficult. So, I really reached for that school. It’s also in Boca Raton, Florida, and that was a dream of mine: to be in Florida. So, really everything altogether, and the coach.

What advice do you have for those looking to play college sports?

My advice is that even if you think you’re not good enough, you’re always good enough. It’s just how bad you want to work for it, and how bad you want it. I just figured out I want to play lacrosse in two years; I started playing four years ago. You never know how good you really are until you really work to see your potential.

What was your biggest challenge during your sports career?

Definitely the mental part of it, because you can get lows and highs. It’s really just how you want to think it. You always have to believe in yourself. If you don’t have the right teammates surrounded by you, thinking you’re not good enough, you have to try and find the right people to give you the positive mindset to know that you could be the best that you can be. You just have to think that way. So, I definitely think that the mental part is hard enough, thinking that you’re not good enough… and I really think that you have to be strong mentally and physically throughout the whole process.
