Jack+Goldsmith

Jack Goldsmith

Being Mr. FTHS is a huge honor. Why do you want to be Mr. FTHS?

– I want to be Mr. FTHS because the reward of winning after all the hard work and early mornings we are about to put in will make it all worth it. I will enjoy the night regardless of the outcome, but winning would make the feeling much better. Also, both my brothers participated in it when they were here, and they couldn’t win, so a win under the Goldsmith name would be very nice.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned at FTHS?

– The most valuable lesson I’ve learned at FTHS and over the years in general, is to be positive, be respectful, and be nice to everyone. The staff and teachers here want the best for the students and being respectful to them is the least I can do in return for all the hard work they put in. There is no point in being rude to teachers or peers when you can just be nice. No one likes a person who is always in a bad mood, so I aspire to be the opposite of those types of people.

How would your teachers or advisors describe you?

– I think they would describe me as an outgoing, respectful, funny, chill person. Also caring and sympathetic towards others.

What staff member at FTHS has had the biggest impact on your life?

– I would say Ms. Galinski because she is always positive and cares a lot about her students. Ms. Galinski clearly loves her job and teaches her students with true passion which some teachers do not replicate as well as her. She knows her curriculum by heart it seems and is always in a positive mood around us. When she was my teacher she radiated positive energy into me. She also wants the best for her students and goes out of her way to make sure we are always prepared for an assessment, or anything. She is an example of how she loves what she does. She’s the type of teacher where it seems she would do it without getting paid. It is a true testament to how much she loves teaching and is inspiring in the sense how it’s important to do what I love to do when I grow up.

If you could go back to freshman year what would you change and why?

– If I could go back to freshman year I would most definitely change my haircut. It was brutal and I regret listening to my parents telling me to cut it short. I remember being dissatisfied every time I walked out of the barbershop and I’m very thankful for quarantine. I’m sure I would’ve grown out my hair at some point, but being in quarantine gave me and my parents no choice but to let it grow.

Do you have a special talent?

– Me and Kyle Chalfin will display to everyone a singing and, or a dance act. We will show our chemistry is unbeaten and our true talent of performing in front of a crowd.
