Being Mr. FTHS is a huge honor. Why do you want to be Mr. FTHS?

– I want to be Mr. FTHS because I really care about my school spirit. Since freshman year, I have always prided myself in being active in the township community, and I am now one of four bleacher creatures for our school. I also feel that I am a role model in this school, as top 10% of the class and an academic weapon, along with peer leadership and the many clubs I enroll in.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned at FTHS?

– My most valuable lesson learned at school is that it is okay to be different. When I got here in freshman year, I tried too hard to fit in that I began to lose myself. Eventually, I began to fall into my comfort zone, where I feel that I can be my honest self. This has significantly benefitted me in all aspects of my life, which I would have never been able to imagine if I continued to be an imposter of myself.

How would your teachers or advisors describe you?

– My teachers would describe me as an entertainment to the class. I try to make the teachers laugh and cheer them up when I can, but they would also say I am a great student. I take pride in learning, and class time for me is important because I remember how much I missed being in class during zoom learning.

What staff member at FTHS has had the biggest impact on your life?

– The staff member with the biggest impact on my life is Mrs. Clark. Some teachers in this building really love their job, and it has always been evident to me when a teacher goes the extra mile. Never in my entirety of being in school have I seen a teacher so empathetic to her students. For example, I happened one day to get really overwhelmed on a test, and I got nervous she would not let me finish the question that I was stuck on, but it was the complete opposite. Mrs. Clark was there for me when I needed guidance on that test, and there for me during life. I still go to her room to talk, and she is even helping me with some college decisions.

If you could go back to freshman year what would you change and why?

– I would wrestle again because I miss the sport. As a senior, I feel as though I missed out on prime parts of my life because I did not wrestle again during high school. After eighth grade finished, I gave up wrestling because I tore my wrist during the middle school season. This year, I did not wrestle because of time restraints and because of a minor injury, all of which may have been different if I changed a part of the past.

Do you have a special talent?

– I have a few talents in the performing aspect. I can play the piano decently, and I can also dance well. I am very flexible so maybe some kind of ballet routine.
