Being Mr. FTHS is a huge honor. Why do you want to be Mr. FTHS?

– I would want to be named Mr. FTHS because I believe that having this honor is a huge compliment towards the type of student I have tried to become since my freshman year. Being a freshman with a senior brother seeing him having so much fun doing all of these activities inspired me to do the same. He participated in the event when he was a senior and I was lucky enough to watch. I know since then that I wanted to be in the same position when I am a senior and here I am.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned at FTHS?

– The most valuable lesson I have learned at FTHS is that everyone is a friend to one another. Now, as a senior that sees all the other underclassmen interact with each other makes me realize that everyone at Freehold Township is appreciative of the opportunity to be at this amazing school. I learned that I can put myself out there, and I try to make sure the underclassmen know that they can and should do the same.

How would your teachers or advisors describe you?

– My teachers would describe me as a student who truly cares about the school. I pride myself on always being that one smiling face you see in the hallways and in every class. I try to represent the rest of my senior class because we all want to spend our last few months together with a positive mindset and good mood. I think everyone would describe me as optimistic, it is rare to see me get down on myself or my classmates, if I can stay positive then everyone around me will radiate the same energy, which is the environment I want to be in.

What staff member at FTHS has had the biggest impact on your life?

– The staff member that impacted me the most has been Signora LoPiccolo. Being in her Italian class since sophomore year has given me more than enough opportunities to get to know her. We have bonded over our Italian background and she has helped me realize that there is always someone that will be your friend. Going into freshman year taking Italian was nerve-racking because I knew that most of my friends were taking Latin because it was “easier.” I was really determined to learn the Italian language and I am proud to say that I have made incredible progress with the help of Signora LoPiccolo. As I continue through my life, I will remember Signora LoPiccolo as the person who opened up new doors for me as a genuine human being.

If you could go back to freshman year what would you change and why?

– If I went back to freshman year, I would probably change the group of friends I surrounded myself with. Some of my friends have stuck with me all the way throughout my high school career and I am extremely thankful for them, but I found my people during junior year and I just wish I found them earlier. The friends I had freshman year helped me grow to be the person I am today and I am grateful for the experience they have given me.

Do you have a special talent?

– I plan on doing a duet with Blake David. We have talked about doing this performance together since freshman year and fulfilling our dream is something that we have both aspired to do by the end of our high school careers. I believe that the chemistry of our friendship will shine through our performance together and I am excited to begin practicing.
