Johnny Manfre, Football at Monmouth

Name: Johnny Manfre

Sport: Football

College: Monmouth University in Long Branch, NJ

Why did you choose this school?

I chose Monmouth because they were one of my first schools to ever recruit me. They made me feel part of the family and really connected with me on a personal level. Also it is very close to home, which was one of my major concerns when picking a school.

What are you most looking forward to about playing in college?

I’m mostly looking forward to the change in pace of play, meeting my new teammates, and finally living my dream of playing Division 1 football.

What will you miss most about playing at FTHS?

I will miss all my best friends who are also my teammates. I would most definitely miss the band and all the constant support that the FTHS student body brought each football game.

If you had to pick ONE favorite memory of playing at FTHS, what would it be?

Upsetting Toms River North High School. They were 5th in the Shore Conference and no one expected us to win. I finished the game with one touchdown, 124 yards, and the huge catch to set up the game-winning field goal.

Anything else you’d like the world to know?

I want to thank Mr. Brusotti, Coach Davies, and Coach Golub for the constant love and tremendous advice. Also a huge shoutout to all my teachers and teammates. Last by not least, thank you to my wonderful family and beautiful girlfriend.
